Haley Kent appears in "The Fury in the Jury" and "The Spark in the Park". She is the woman who stole Camille Saroyan's identity in Season 9.

Backstory[]

Haley Kent's backstory only revealed that she went to college with Camille Saroyan, and that the two were friends and roommates together. As revealed in "The Fury in the Jury", Haley visited Camille a year prior to the season's events, but she did so looking to borrow money from her. When Camille refused, Haley turned heel by stealing Camille's identity, using her information to go on an immense shopping spree. It was in "The Cheat in the Retreat", that Camille was actually arrested for fraud (among other crimes) during a traffic stop involving her boyfriend. After finding out about the credit card charges and what her money was spent on, Camille realized that her idenity was stolen and had her accounts frozen as a result.

Angela's search resulted in Haley being revealed as the thief in the final scenes of "The Fury in the Jury", with Camille expressing her astonishment and shock that her former college roommate stole her identity after seeing surveillance video of Haley at a store using Camille's identity. Haley's lone official appearance came in "The Spark in the Park", where she was shown in handcuffs and taken into custody, after which an angry Camille slapped her former friend out of anger.

Camille wanted additional charges filed against Haley, and after venting to Vaziri about Haley's actions, she decided to confront Kent herself. When asked for a reason for her actions, Haley merely stated that she stole Camille's identity because they were friends, and it made it easier. In addition, she informed Camille that she asked her for a loan because she was "doing so well," while accusing Camille of not wanting to be bothered. Camille responded by telling Haley that she didn't have as much as her ex-friend thought, and also responded to Haley's statements about Camille having it so easy by adding that she worked hard for everything and that Haley didn't feel that she needed to work at all. She coldly stated that steaing her identity was difficult, but boasted that she got away with it for a year, after which Camille walked away due to Haley's lack of remorse. Camille later informed Vaziri that she would not pursue further charges, because she didn't want her anger at Haley to consume her, just as Haley's jealousy of Camille did to her.

Trivia[]

  • She could be known as the Anti-Cam. Both characters put their own belief systems before other people and posses a single minded focus on their duties without hesitation, remorse, or guilt. Unlike Cam, who worked hard at what she does to earn her needs and wants in her personal and professional life, Haley decided that it was better to take whatever she wants from others, even from her so-called friends, even at the risk of imprisonment.
